2022 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru, Domaine Denis Mortet

With the three plots of the 1ers Crus of Cherbaudes, Petite Chapelle and Bel Air, all of which either overlooking or ‘underlooking’ Clos de Bèze, only making up a quarter of a hectare in total, it makes complete sense to blend them together to make a still fairly small cuvée of a generic 1er Cru, that only generates 5 barrels in a good year as it is! Plenty of finesse, unsurprisingly, but it has some substance, too, thanks in part to the old vines. Really rather delicious. Drink from 2029. Very limited
