2021 Blanc de Noirs, Hundred Hills

We’ve come to expect sophisticated, mineral-driven sparkling wines from Hundred Hills but even so, the 2021 Blanc de Noirs is something special. 100% Pinot Noir, primarily from the south-facing Hillside vineyard, it's taut and linear in keeping with 2021’s cool growing season. 32 months on the lees account for its subtle brioche and savoury aromas. The mousse is fine and persistent. Most impressive of all perhaps, at this early stage, is the wine’s finely balanced, saline finish, which goes on and on. This will drink well on release but needs a few years at least to reveal its full potential.
